Can I say it bluntly!? I will! SIN IS from the devil. Satan was the first ever to sin (Isaiah 14:12-15 & Ezekiel 28:12-19). NOW why would you want anything the devil hands you? The one who is here to steal, kill, and destroy?! (John 10:10) It’s an illusion that sin benefits us. It is a trick from the devil!
Think about it… before the fall, Adam and Eve lived without sin and they had a relationship with God. They didn’t know good and evil. They didn’t live with fear because they knew God would provide for them. Today, many people live in fear and worry, they don’t have a relationship with God, they don’t trust He will provide for them (when saved: Philippians 4:6–7). I can’t even begin to explain the security I feel now knowing I have protection from the creator of the universe, and my spot in Heaven is reserved (Romans 8).
ANYWAY, they lived in a loving relationship with their creator, until there were tempted. It was pride that was their downfall, they wanted to be more like God, and the serpent (Satan) told them they could if they ate from the tree of the knowledge of Good and Evil (Genesis 3). Then sin entered the world. And it is still pride that keeps many people from accepting the Gospel truth.
PRIDE is the ENEMY of LOVE!
If you read my blog on pride, you can see that without pride there would be more love in the world.
God Doesn’t Take Your FREEDOM – He Gives FREEDOM
God gives us freedom! The devil wants you to think that God is taking it from you because you have to give up your sin, your pride, and stop being worldly.
But keeping your sin and your pride, following the world, leads to death. It is the wide path, not the narrow path. SIN leads to death! You are giving up some things in this shorter life, to enjoy a longer happier life in eternity. When we look at the big picture, we can see that eternity is way more important than this short time on earth.
Now, think about all those sins you really don’t enjoy at all!
Do you get some disturbing thoughts out of nowhere? Jealousy? Rage? Lust? Addiction? Hate?
What if you didn’t have to be a slave to sins? What if you could get rid of all your shame completely? What if you could stop working so hard to find peace? What if you could stop caring so much about what everyone thinks of you? What if you could stop placing your value in worldly things (defining yourself)? What if you could stop trying to figure it all out on your own?? What if you could wake up every day with full confidence that you are a protected child of God and are saved?
We Were Designed to NEED God!
We were created to need a relationship with our creator. God designed us to NEED him! When we feel like something is missing, and we look to worldly things to fill the emptiness – we are never satisfied. Because we were designed to NEED God!
We have this slogan in society, “live your best life, because you only get one life.” OR “Don’t let fear of death hold you back from living your best life.” OR “Live everyday as if it will be your last because one day you will be right” THIS IS ALL VERY SAD AND WRONG! If you are saved my friend, your best life is yet to come! When you are saved, you don’t fear death!!! If these quotes resonate with you, you are probably still living a worldly existence. These quotes make death seem like the end of everything good, and that is so untrue if you are SAVED!
I imagine that when we get to Heaven there will be all sorts of cool things to do and experience, I find it hard to believe that we will just be sitting around worshipping God. I believe God created us all with unique gifts and personalities, not just for this life to be interesting, but for reasons we don’t understand for the next life.
We are told the next life will be incredibly peaceful:
“He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death’ or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.” (Revelation 21:4)
OUR #1 Actual Goal here on earth is (Drum Roll):
To get into the next LIFE! (Everything else is a distraction from this truth)
(Did you see my last blog? I called the Bible: The Instruction Manual for Life?)
Our #1 goal here on earth is NOT to make the best of this one! HOLD UP though, this doesn’t mean we can’t live an amazing life.
Being a Christian can be challenging, but it does not mean you just stop enjoying life. WHEN you read the scriptures, you SEE those who surrendered and turned to God fully received an overflow of blessings (Solemn, David, Joseph – Old Testament, Job) They received this overflow while they were alive. You could obtain overflow in this lifetime!!! God blesses his children more, than those who are running in the opposite direction, those following the world, those lost in the darkness.
SIN Benefiting us is DECEPTION from the DEVIL
Sin is like the poison apple in Snow White. It’s so shiny, it looks so delicious, but it is actually poison.
It may not be incredibly obvious the damage of all the sins, but can we see that a person without sin is going to have greater love for mankind? Can we see that without sin there would be less war? Can we see without sin there would be less pain? Can we see that thoughts of jealousy don’t benefit us or anyone else? Can we see that lust doesn’t benefit us? Can we see lies don’t benefit anyone? Can we see stealing doesn’t benefit anyone? Can we see judging others harshly doesn’t benefit anyone? Can we see??
FYI: Do you know why Texas is doing so economically well? They have a bunch of churches actually sharing the Gospel truth. There is a big revival happening there!
SEX BEFORE MARRIAGE is Linked to HIGHER DIVORCE RATES!
Compared to people with no premarital partners other than eventual spouses, those with nine or more partners exhibit the highest divorce risk, followed by those with one to eight partners (Smith & Wolfinger, 2024)
This is also evident with people living together before marriage, less people are committing. It makes a lot of sense because people don’t understand the challenges of marriage, so when things get hard, they assume they are not meant to be together. Where marriage forces a couple to work through the difficulties. Relationships are work, but when God is at the center of the relationship, every relationship is stronger!!! Today, people want to move on when things get hard, or the “honeymoon phase” comes to an end.
This is hard, our culture has gone so off the rails morally. Sex before marriage happens in almost every relationship we see on TV. Talking to single people, I hear some say it is like an expectation after just a few dates. I met my husband when I was 19 and was married by 24 so I didn’t have those experiences.
Lately I’ve been watching “When the Heart Calls” on Prime, Hallmark subscription, set in 1910. I LOVE seeing that guys only dated girls “courted” them because they were serious about marriage, and there were no expectations of anything sexual before marriage. I still wish it was like that today. Our society used to have REALLY STRONG morales, and it meant more people in happy long-term relationships.
NOTE: I’m not out to shame people. I don’t care about your past – I’m more interested in aligning with how Jesus sees – who you can become! Jesus didn’t go around shaming people, He pointed them to truth and to what is the better way. God will use sometimes the biggest sinners to do the biggest things for His kingdom. REMEMBER, Moses murdered a man and God still chose him. So, this is about recognizing and turning away from sin. It is about understanding it is ALL bad.
God can take our mistakes and our pain and use them for good!
“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.” – Romans 8:28
It is SCARY where we are headed with morales and our acceptance of the darkness. See my blog: DARKNESS (EVIL) is ACCEPTED on a SCARY LEVEL
I know how easy it is to think the sins in your head are okay, because you are not acting on them. But the truth is God knows, and all sin is evil! Yes, those jealous thoughts, the lust, hate, rage, prideful thoughts are ALL BAD, ALL EVIL. YES, some sins are worse than others, but we should hate all sin.
Don’t worry, that’s what the Holy Spirit helps us with! You don’t have to do it on your own like religion tells you.
The GIFT of the Holy Spirit! The GIFT of Salvation
27 My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me. 28 I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one will snatch them out of my hand. 29 My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all; no one can snatch them out of my Father’s hand. 30 I and the Father are one.” – John 10:27–30
Do you understand this? Jesus is talking, and you are the “sheep” if you are “saved.” This, is one of the scriptures that represents the security that you receive when you are saved, you are God’s, and you are protected!! Did you know “holy” means “belonging to God”?
TO SUMMARIZE
The truth is God didn’t create a bunch of rules on what is sinful and what isn’t in order to make our lives complicated, or to control us. He provided the Levitical Law to point out what is sinful, in order to help us become part of the New Covenant the “Spiritual Law.” (Romans 8:2)
Jesus died on the cross paying for our sins NOT so we can continue to live in sin!!!
God points us to what is sin, because sin is from the devil, sin is evil, and by pointing us to what is evil, we can turn away from it (part of repenting is turning away from sin). It is deception that any sin benefits us, it is deception that sins don’t harm relationships, because they do. When we turn from sin, we have the opportunity to find the relationship that Adam and Eve had in the garden with God before sin entered the world. Except we still have to deal with the temptations because we are not yet free from the curse.
RELIGION has it wrong! You don’t try harder by your own willpower not to sin! You surrender so you can have God’s grace to help you turn from sin! Mass Religion will say “try harder – do it by your own strength.” God calls you to surrender and receive strength from Him. You receive a new heart, a heart the aligns with God’s heart, and as one spiritually grows’ they close more doors that allow sin into their life. (Holy Spirit as Your Anti-Virus Security System)
Sin becomes no longer natural or easy because you are miraculously born again. (John 3:3)
God is so incredibly happy with you when you repent! Because you chose to love him back! He loved you from the beginning, and has been waiting for you to return that love. Before we accept the gift, we are on a path to death being separated from God. Jesus died on the cross for our sins because God didn’t want you to die and be separated from him.
“In the same way, I tell you, there is rejoicing in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents.” – Luke 15:10
How to Be Saved – What it TRULY Means to Repent
You accept Jesus Christ as your savior by… view my Recipe for Repentance blog. I won’t just tell you in a couple sentences, because today there are so many versions of the truth, that being vague in a world where religion has become incredibly deceptive would be a disservice.
I created this blog at 4:40am in the morning when God woke me up to give me this idea – the day before I prayed for a way to explain to people who have been receiving a watered- down version of salvation. I prefer to sleep until 7am – So when I woke up, this idea is being downloaded into my mind, and I’m actually trying to go back to sleep. I’m thinking, I will type it in the morning, but I knew God was giving me something special, so I got up to type.
