In the U.S. evil is well-integrated into society. We don’t even FEAR it. In so many ways it becomes a joke. This is the work of the enemy… to desensitize us, make it feel normal, fun even, not so scary, not incredibly wrong.
It has become very apparent to me how much our culture has become unshaken by dark stuff!
We are desensitized through tv, movies, music, and other entertainment. People joke about hell and demons vs teaching us the dangers! Evil is made to seem funny, and society teaches us it is okay to be fascinated with it. This is pure evil, and I would at times feel bothered by some of it, but now that I have the Holy Spirit I see how clearly wrong it ALL is! It ALL bothers me.
The popularity of Halloween, wanting to experience ghosts, watching horror films, tv shows depicting the devil, taking a curious (not educational) interest in violence in the world, and so much more! People don’t realize they are intrigued by darkness or accepting of it because they are in the darkness.
Now that I have the light, I see darkness and evil more clearly than ever before!
Following the World is the Devil’s Trap!
It’s pretty clever actually, the devil doesn’t try to get you to follow him. He makes it seem like he doesn’t even exist. All he has to do is get you to follow the world, which leads people right into his trap.
He gets people to worship themselves. People devote themselves to status, money, ideology, image, productivity, or pleasure. They confuse this with freedom. Then, people think anything else is oppression. YET, people still feel this void inside like something is missing (subconsciously or consciously), so they try to fill with: material things, relationships, sex, money, achievements, fancy homes, trips, church involvement (church attendance doesn’t guarantee salvation) BUT the void is always there, unless it is filled with the Holy Spirit (additionally, religious mindsets are destroyed and doors are closed to evil)! We all have this void whether we want to admit it or not. I know, I used to fill it with my checklist of stuff to feel content.
“Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it. – Matthew 7:13-14
I feel this is the scariest bible verse in the whole bible. I know I’m entering through the small gate, narrow road, so it doesn’t scare me. It bothers me because I HATE that so many people won’t find the narrow gate! This always confused me, until I realized a good majority of people who call themselves Christians are not actually saved (YET – is my mindset). I realized this because I got saved (I knew because I was born again by God’s miraculous power), and I could tell how most of the people I know are following the world, not Jesus. One way is: I see people not bothered by the darkness like Halloween.
When I shared how I got saved, there was no welcome sign, no congratulations, nothing. I was kind of hoping maybe I was just blind and lost in the dark unable to see the boat that others were climbing onto. But I was met with the reality, that I was the one chosen to show many of the people around me the boat (not something I feel qualified for by my own standards, but God continues to qualify me – as spiritual wisdom started coming to me. I’m guided to write and share the ideas I’m given). FYI the boat is Noah’s boat. I’m using it as a metaphor – boat meaning “the way, the truth, the light, the road to salvation”
If you are following the world – you are not following Jesus. It is “herd mentality” to follow the world. Being a true Christian means giving up on what is popular, it means standing out even when you want to blend in. It means being okay with being persecuted for your faith.
The bible says “DON’T LOVE THE WORLD”!
15 Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, love for the Father[a] is not in them. 16 For everything in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—comes not from the Father but from the world. 17 The world and its desires pass away, but whoever does the will of God lives forever. – 1 John 2:15-17
2 Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will. – Romans 12:2
4 You adulterous people, don’t you know that friendship with the world means enmity against God? Therefore, anyone who chooses to be a friend of the world becomes an enemy of God.” – James 4:4

After you have the Holy Spirit, you continue you to “transform” like the scripture says “by the renewing of your mind.” You will shift and change over time with the help of the Holy Spirit. Do not live in fear when you are born again that you have to have it all figured out, the Holy Spirit guides you over time.
Darkness/Evil is Becoming VERY Popular
Being saved, born again, I can see what is evil and darkness more clearly than ever before!
Demons are very real! We have a show for kids that apparently is popular that is about demons! “Kpop Demon Hunters” How is that appropriate for anyone, let alone kids? Or a show called “Lucifer”? I know the show “Supernatural” downplays that demons are evil, sure they start off as evil, and then slowly the show makes them likable, and not 100% evil. I imagine these two other shows do the same thing, they desensitize you to what is actually evil.
The world tries to portray “good witches,” so we are desensitized to what is actually darkness, evil. The famous Broadway play called “WICKED” now a movie. The bible warns about “wickedness.” And we are like “that’s fine.” But let me tell you, it’s NOT. BUT yeah, it didn’t bother me as much until the light was in me (until I was filled with the Holy Spirit).
WITCHCRAFT is real! It is not some imaginary made up thing. The bible warns us about witchcraft! It is as real today as it was in biblical times (2 Chronicles 33:6 and Occult practices: Deuteronomy 18:10–12). Witches work with the devil and can actually harm people. SO the world has many movies, tv series, and other entertainment to desensitize us to such a thing. No one should be dressing up as a witch for fun – this is honoring something that is EVIL!
We got shows and movies about vampires, horror stories, zombies, etc. Although I’ve said NO WAY to these things in recent years, I still didn’t fully see how bad it really is.
All of a sudden, it started really rubbing me the wrong way how many amazing natural mountains, valleys, lakes, etc., receive names like “hell….” Or “devil….” So like “devil’s lake” “hells doorway.” Things created by God and are gorgeous and that can take your breath away are given a name that represent evil and darkness, not Jesus the light that came into the world, God the one who created it all.
“For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light.”
“We know that we are children of God, and that the whole world is under the control of the evil one.” – 1 John 5:19
When you are miraculously BORN AGAIN, after you fully surrendered, repented, you get this new identity: CHILD OF GOD. And what is darkness and evil should be more evident, if you are truly born again.
It’s a trick! Not a treat.
HALLOWEEN is the DEVIL’S Holiday!
God doesn’t want people celebrating! THIS NOT AN OPINION! God told me repeatedly to share this, and when I hesitated GOD sent me multiple signs.
- The holy spirit made it known to me and Chris months after we were born again.
- Scripture has warnings about darkness (Halloween definitely falls into that category) Scripture warns believers to stay away.
- GOD repeatedly TOLD ME TO SHARE after He had me write about it, but I put it off, thinking it could wait awhile. My spiritual mentor mentioned hating Halloween randomly. I ignored it. But then GOD gave me multiple signs to share. This was HUGE: 3 people in SPRING randomly mentioning Halloween to me in 3 days! (3 is a biblical number). It was so blatantly obvious to me at that point, I was like, “yes God, I’m sharing, I got it!”
All of it is celebrating… any party, candy handing out, trick-or-treating is celebrating the devil’s holiday. (And this is coming from someone who used to throw parties every year, and I DON’T miss any of it! I repented for it.)
It is suggested that trick-or-treating evolved from a tradition whereby people impersonated the spirits, or the souls of the dead, and received offerings on their behalf. SCARY?!?!?!
MORALES ARE DISAPPEARING
We have entered a time where “WICKEDNESS” is actually being celebrated today! I’m not going into all the ways this is evident, just a couple.
There was a time not so long ago, where violence was allowed to take place because of people being angry about how they felt their “race” was treated. Innocent people had their property destroyed, because wickedness was accepted and seen as justified.
TV I struggle with because I enjoy it as an escape from reality. I have found some quality TV, but what is popular is usually the worst stuff to watch!
It is hard to find quality TV today, as people are sleeping around, cheating is slowly happening more and more and is excusing it with statements, “I was really drunk” or “my husband is such a jerk”, “I’m going to divorce her anyway,” etc. And even though people are hurt, it is seen as morally, no big deal. There is way more nudity of course, and it is being widely accepted!!!
What I really didn’t notice as much until after I had the Holy Spirit was how often God’s name and Jesus’s name is used like a swear word to vent when someone is frustrated. I also didn’t really hear the mention of false Gods: “God of the sea,” “God of the moon,” “Spirits of our ancestors”, etc.
The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel that displays the glory of Christ, who is the image of God. – 2 Corinthians 4:4
“God of this age” is referring to the devil! I was blind, but now I see. I pray that God is helping you to see.
It is hard to realize you are in the darkness if everyone around you is too. But God is calling people out of the darkness. Come to the light and become light!!! There is a community of people to support you.
Break FREE!
The devil has had thousands of years to infiltrate everything in our world, and it is hard to recognize it because the majority of churches are not sharing truth. The majority of churches have been corrupted. The scripture has the truth, but people get so blinded by religion it becomes hard to read, but that’s why I’m sharing.
I want you to break free and be saved! I’m here to help. God is guiding me on many different ways to share Gospel truth, so people can no longer be blinded.
The Holy Spirit warns me (discernment), so I avoid things the bible would label as “pagan” or “darkness” because I want to please God and be someone people can trust! I have to accept God’s plans for me, and accepting comes with a lot of responsibility, SO I don’t take me sinning lightly (I’m very careful to not even be tempted). As I’ve said many times before, because I have the Holy Spirit sin is no longer easy, or natural for me. AGAIN, God’s grace miraculously changed my heart and desire to sin, and over time I noticed more and more evil in the world (not immediately). I’m not perfect and I can’t be perfect, but I will do my best to have a life that resembles a real Christian, and bring light and share truth in the midst of darkness.
I don’t mind sharing past mistakes, past pain, past weaknesses, to talk about how I changed so God’s glory can shine! I’m a new person fully accepted and loved by my creator. Who I was doesn’t really matter anymore.

TRUTH is BETTER than the Lies!
When I used to read the Old Testament, I used to feel such fear and confusion. I just didn’t get it. But I was part of the darkness, I was allowing the darkness in and even following it unknowingly, but I couldn’t see the light because no one told me about it.
Now I have the light, now I read and I feel God’s love in not just the New Testament scripture, but Old Testament scripture. I’m in awe of this love as in Jeremiah he warned the people for like 23 years to stop worshipping other God’s (that’s a long time to wait!). He calls them to repent, to take full responsibility for their sin feeling the shame, and turning back to him. And we know they didn’t listen.
“For as were the days of Noah, so will be the coming of the Son of Man. For as in those days before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day when Noah entered the ark, and they were unaware until the flood came and swept them all away, so will be the coming of the Son of Man.”
— Matthew 24:37–39
