God is moving, wow!
Lies that keep people from repenting, accepting the Gospel Truth:
LIE: You don’t have to take responsibility for sinning. You’ve tried hard to be morally good. You are above that. (PRIDE trap: the original sin that led to the fall, the curse. There is no one who hasn’t experienced pride on some level.)
LIE: God doesn’t love you enough. You are the exception. (SUFFERING or INSECURITY trap) *You suffered so much, it is hard to believe in God’s love.*
LIE: He won’t forgive you for those sins. God won’t save you. (SHAME trap) God saved Paul who persecuted Christians and had one killed. God would have saved Judas if he repented*
LIE: Some sins have benefited you and you can’t live without them (GOOD vs EVIL trap – that sin isn’t all bad, that sin being invited into the world wasn’t actually evil, even though the bible says we were cursed)
LIE: God isn’t that powerful to keep you from sinning (UNBELIEF in GOD’S POWER trap – destroying your ability to see God can do anything and everything)

HOW DO WE CONFRONT LIES?
We go to SCRIPTURE and read the truth! And we choose to believe the scripture (believe God) over the lies in our head, lies society shares, etc.
Maybe God is calling you out of the darkness, and into his glorious light. Could it be your time? When I knew the truth and had faith, the enemy was still whispering lies in my head.
I repented even while an evil spirit was still feeding me a lie “God doesn’t love you enough.” BUT I knew I had to believe what the scripture said over the lie in my mind that I couldn’t seem to shake (the lie from the enemy). It was annoying because it still lingered even after I was saved, but I learned how to get rid of it.
We all have this tiny understanding of God’s love for us, but when we have the Holy Spirit – we can go from understanding to actually feeling it, and it can grow more over time as we find escape from the lies the enemy has been feeding us all our lives.
Scripture confronts the enemies lies, and there is healing with the Holy Spirit.
This is kind of hard to understand unless you have experienced it, but the cross is the answer not just to receiving salvation, but the path to freedom from the shame, the fear, the pain, the love the world didn’t give, the insecurities, and MORE. Jesus paid for it ALL!
You have to turn from sins, but see God doesn’t expect you to figure it all out on your own. He doesn’t tell you that you have to get rid of all your sin before you are saved.
God wants you to recognize you are in the darkness, a slave to sin, and to take responsibility (feel the weight of the sins that you have done), and desire to turn away from sin knowing it is harmful and keeps you trapped. (View my blog
