We all face storms throughout our lives, sometimes we have seasons where it feels like one storm after another.

And we may start to wonder… How long is this going to last? Why do I have to go through this?

You can’t go through life without storms. But storms are not necessarily a bad thing. Storms can cause destruction, but sometimes something needs to be destroyed to make way for something better. Sometimes you need to lose that job, because God has something better lined up for you. Sometimes you need to distance yourself from a person because the relationship will get in the way of the greater things God has planned for you.

The storm may feel daunting, but it might be meant to build up something stronger in you.

It is even possible sometimes to find beauty in a storm, as God wants us to turn to him in the the storm. Storms can build faith and trust in God. For some people, a brutal storm is what makes them realize how desperately they need God, and they repent and get saved. Not ideal, but sometimes that is what it takes. My storm led me to both the truth and my salvation.

“The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock.”   – Matthew 7:25

The rock is referring to Jesus. I feel there are many ways to interpret this, for me: when “we build our foundation on the rock,” we can get to this point of watching the storms happen in our life – see the destruction, and still feel this sense of peace that God’s got it (My foundation is in Christ, Christ in me, the Holy Spirit protects me, trusting in God’s plan). I can trust that everything will be okay. There are days it has been extremely challenging, but over time I’ve learned how to trust in God more and how to move toward peace when fear comes to attack my mind.

Could you have the peace Paul had while in prison? With God anything is possible!

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
– Philippians 4:6-7

A PIECE OF MY TESTIMONY:

The enemy was taking everything from me: my health, my hobbies (hiking, kayaking, etc., I lost my desire to do art, and even to write), my ability to work, my money, my time, my relationships, and I finally realized I was missing something! THERE had to be a way to build a stronger relationship with God because I’m calling out to him and I’m not getting the help I need. He was listening though.

I had gone to multiple healthcare specialists and have done all these wellness protocols over 10 years, and I was back to multiple health issues showing up, and off the charts pain. I knew no doctor, not any medication was going to fix it, because I realized I was at war with something invisible out to destroy me.

I reached this point where I knew only God could help me and I was willing to do anything to have a closer relationship with my creator. So, I found the truth in the scriptures, humbled myself before God, repented, and was saved! Now God has been slowly (wish it was faster, but I understand why) giving me back what the enemy stole. The journey hasn’t been easy, but I have faith that I’m going to get back EVERYTHING the enemy has taken from me!

Job got back what the enemy stole and became even more blessed. David got back seven times what the enemy stole.
