We have a health crisis in America that many people don’t see or don’t understand, and if you don’t see it or understand it, you are more likely to become a statistical part of it.
Our healthcare system along with many healthcare practitioners are well aware there is a growing problem, but not many people are saying what to do about it.
This blog’s intent is to help people to know what they are up against with 40-45% of the population (likely more) having at least one (if not more) ongoing health condition(s). And this number is only growing! View my blog post on What Health Conditions Are Becoming More Common. My intent is to help people and their families to make healthier decisions, but not without reasoning behind each decision.
The Wellness Resolution will Focus on 4 Different Preventative Health Concepts:
- Explaining why 40-45% of the population and growing is sick (based on some valid facts and resources to back it up).
- An understanding of the flaws in our current health system with history to help explain why things are the way they are.
- Wellness recommendations on what you can personally do to live a healthier, fuller life, and take more control over your health!
- What alternative treatments are out there to help with health conditions before they become detrimental.
Disclaimer: I will not be providing any specific healthcare advice since I am not a healthcare provider. However, I will provide a lot of resources to research or seek out healthcare advice, and general wellness advice that is helpful for anyone. But, nothing is guaranteed to help prevent or heal any health condition.
This blog is different…Do You Need Reasons Why? I do!
1. Valid Reasoning
Many bloggers focus on wellness. You can find great advice in lots of places, but I provide valid reasons why anything is worth your time or your money. I’m a critical thinker, so I won’t make changes in my life just because someone says it is healthy for me. I’m the type of person who will do hours of research for making a decision that sometimes isn’t even that monumental. I’m not easy to sell to or market to. With all the mixed health advice out there and wellness information, it is confusing, overwhelming, and many people won’t make changes unless they see something as worth it. I back up most of what I share with research or simple logic.
A lot of what I have learned over the years is from legally, certified nutritionists, and naturopath practitioners who have helped me and others take their lives back from chronic illness. But also, hours and hours of in-depth research, learning from an Ayurveda doctor, chiropractors, and physical therapists. I also know in general what sites to view and trust for health information. I don’t know everything, I’m always learning and improving my own health. I don’t have all the answers, but I know enough to help people make significant improvements to their health.
2. Guidance on What Health Changes Are Really Important to Minor Importance
I break down in order of importance (based on my experience and research) what wellness changes are worth the time and/or the effort. Some healthy decisions are rather inexpensive and easy, but others can be expensive and harder to integrate into your life. I have made a lot of healthy changes since I became chronically sick 5 years ago. A lot of them took time, and sometimes I had to convince myself it was worth it when the price tag was higher. What I’m trying to say is everyone has their own journey in life. So you have to do what you think is best for your health and life, in your time frame.
So instead of telling everyone this is unhealthy stay away from this, this, and that. I’m breaking down an order of things to worry about. I will mention what things are super important, what might not be a big deal, and what things you can consider at a later date. I believe everyone should have the facts to make the most informed decisions with chronic illness exponentially growing.
3. More In-Depth Information
Health care practitioners are specialized in one area or are focused on getting in new patients. That’s where The Wellness Resolution comes in. I will tell you about a variety of alternative treatments so that you can consider the options. I won’t sugarcoat it for you though, I will give you the positives and negatives. You will get a bigger picture of the chronic illness crisis with history and popular marketing lies that very few people know about!
I know lots of great sites to go to for information, but it all depends on the topic. Not one site has all the answers. Each site has its limitations, and I can usually see the limitations. I have a skill at paying attention to the overlap of information. I’m fairly good at it because when I was struggling with my health issues, I would ask my practitioners lots of questions, and sometimes their answers didn’t meet my own personal health experiences or research on what other experts were saying. So I began to really hone into what each practitioner’s expertise is and where their knowledge is lacking.
4. Strategies to Makes Changes
I will make an effort to provide detailed strategies on how to make healthy changes OVER TIME so you are not overwhelmed.
Learning more about how to be healthier can never hurt, it can only help. Health should be at the top of our priority list, but for many people, it isn’t. Unfortunately, we can’t afford to not make changes with the rising numbers of people developing chronic health conditions.
